Maximum weekly paid leave benefits, 2026 and 2027

The weekly maximum decides the benefit for anyone earning above roughly the state’s average wage. Here is every program’s cap by date, which 2027 figures are already published, and when the rest are due.

Why maximums change

Most caps are a fixed share of the state’s average weekly wage — 90% in Washington and Colorado, 64% in Massachusetts, 67% for New York PFL, 70% in New Jersey, 100% in Minnesota and Maine, 120% in Oregon — so they rise every year with wages. Connecticut ties its cap to the minimum wage (60 times it). Delaware, DC, Maryland and New York disability set a dollar amount in law. A few programs change mid-year: Rhode Island, Colorado and Maine in July, Oregon at the start of July benefit years, Minnesota in late October and DC on October 1.

Which cap applies to you depends on the program’s trigger date — usually the first day of leave or the date the claim is filed — not the date the payments arrive. In Colorado, claims in progress are recalculated when the cap changes on July 1.

What “not yet published” means here

We list a future maximum only after the agency or the statute fixes it. Where a figure is still pending, the calculator asks you to type the official number from the agency’s announcement instead of projecting one; agency forecasts are not the same as the figure they finally publish, and the difference lands in your paycheck.
